Job summary

Expo is seeking a hands-on Director of Infrastructure to lead and scale the core systems powering engineering and product teams. You will own macOS/Linux fleets, developer infrastructure, data pipelines, and billing systems, while guiding multi-cloud expansion and incident response.

You will troubleshoot complex issues, mentor engineers, and balance strategic direction with direct technical execution in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• Proven track record leading infrastructure initiatives while remaining hands-on.
• Experience scaling Linux/macOS fleets and multi-cloud environments.
• Strong communication to align engineering and product stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define infrastructure strategy and execution through roadmap and standards.
• Own macOS and Linux fleets, developer infra, code review systems, and provisioning.
• Run data pipelines and billing infrastructure for reliability and scale.
• Scale fleet management and plan multi-cloud expansion.
• Lead reliability, performance, and on-call rotations.
• Contribute to architecture, debugging, and operational improvements.
• Partner with engineering and product to translate business needs into infra plans.
• Deliver elastic compute at scale across clouds, with cost efficiency.
