Job summary

EY is seeking a Manager in the Service Delivery Center to balance hands-on software engineering with project leadership. You will guide multidisciplinary teams through design, development, testing, deployment, and production support while mentoring engineers and coordinating across geographically distributed teams.

You will stay hands-on with coding and code reviews, while shaping solution design with Java/Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud-native patterns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of software engineering work across planning, design, development, testing, release, and production support.
• Remain hands-on with coding, code reviews, troubleshooting, PoCs, and resolution of complex engineering issues.
• Guide solution design using Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, microservices, Angular or React, relational or NoSQL databases, and cloud-native patterns.
• Plan and manage Agile delivery, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, estimation, daily coordination, demonstrations, retrospectives, release readiness, and dependency management.
• Coordinate work across teams located in different geographic locations and time zones, ensuring clear ownership, timely decisions, and effective handoffs.
• Mentor engineers through technical coaching, design reviews, code-quality feedback, career development conversations, and practical problem-solving support.
• Partner with product owners, architects, quality engineering, DevOps, security, operations, and client stakeholders to translate business requirements into achievable delivery plans.
• Monitor scope, schedule, quality, risks, issues, and delivery metrics; communicate progress and elevate impediments with recommended actions.
• Promote secure development, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, operational readiness, and continuous improvement across the engineering lifecycle.
• Support event-driven and data-processing solutions using Apache Kafka, Hadoop, Apache Spark, Apache Flink, or comparable technologies when required.
