Mettle Ops in Michigan is seeking a Build Manager to oversee complex defense and ground vehicle builds from planning through delivery. This hands‑on role requires deep knowledge of defense manufacturing, vehicle integration, and the practical execution of mechanical and electromechanical builds on the production floor.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and leadership to translate requirements into executable build plans, identify bottlenecks, and ensure

Qualifications

• 5+ years of defense manufacturing, vehicle production, or closely related work.
• Experience with military/tactical/armored ground vehicles.
• Understanding of fabrication, assembly, testing, and delivery of defense vehicles.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, BOMs, specs, and work instructions.

Responsabilités

• Manage complete ground vehicle builds from planning through delivery and acceptance.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Supply Chain to translate requirements into build plans.
• Identify and resolve fitment, interference, and sequencing issues before they impact production.
• Review designs, drawings, BOMs, and work instructions to ensure manufacturability.
• Coordinate integration of subsystems into complete vehicle platforms.
• Provide hands-on leadership on the production floor to keep builds moving.
• Support prototype and low-rate production builds as needed.
• Communicate status, risks, and resource needs to management.
• Ensure compliance with defense industry requirements and quality systems.
• Support inspections, testing, and final acceptance activities.
