Job summary

Apollo Generators is seeking a Controller to own the books, reporting to the CFO. This role combines controller and accounting manager duties, with hands-on responsibility for daily transactions, month-end close, and financial reporting.

You will personally code transactions, manage AP/AR, reconciliations, and month-end close, and help design scalable processes and controls. Strong US GAAP knowledge and experience with cloud-based finance systems are essential.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of accounting experience, ideally in a startup or high-growth company.
• Strong US GAAP knowledge and financial statement prep.
• Hands-on experience: booked entries, AP/AR, reconciliations, close.
• Comfort with bookkeeping-level work as part of owning the books.
• Experience with cloud-based finance systems.
• Clear cross-team communication across time zones.

Responsibilities

• Record and code daily transactions, maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts.
• Process vendor bills and payments, manage card spend and expense reports.
• Run procure-to-pay: vendor setup, POs, bill entry and matching, vendor payments.
• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids and payroll entries.
• Perform bank, credit card and balance sheet reconciliations monthly.
• Lead the month-end close and deliver accurate financial statements on schedule.
• Support the CFO on audit and tax readiness, budgeting and forecasting inputs.
• Maintain vendor records, supporting documentation and close files.
