High Country Search Group is assisting a newly established, multi-family office in Denver, CO to recruit a Controller who will own accounting, financial reporting, and cash flow management across multiple entities and investment structures.

This hands-on leadership role offers autonomy, exposure to senior leadership, and the opportunity to shape the office's financial infrastructure while coordinating with external advisors. In-office with flexibility as needed.

Qualifikationen

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a family office or multi-entity environment.
• Strong understanding of alternative investments, particularly private credit and real estate.
• Extensive experience with general ledger accounting, financial statements, consolidations, and internal controls.
• Leadership ability to build and manage accounting functions while remaining hands-on.
• Technical proficiency with accounting and financial reporting systems.

Aufgaben

• Lead accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls across multiple family entities, trusts, and investment structures.
• Prepare financial statements, balance sheets, net worth statements, and reporting for family members, trustees, and senior leadership.
• Oversee cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, and cash positioning to support investment activity, capital commitments, and distributions.
• Manage general ledger accounting, reconciliations, accounts payable, and financial close processes.
• Monitor investment activity across private credit, real estate, and other alternative assets, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
• Design and implement accounting policies, reporting procedures, and financial controls.
• Coordinate with external tax advisors, estate planning attorneys, trustees, and other professional partners.
• Oversee banking activities, wire transfers, and cash management controls.
• Support the implementation of accounting and investment reporting systems.
• Provide oversight to junior accounting personnel while remaining actively involved in day-to-day operations.
