Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Engineering Intern in Kansas City, MO. You will apply standard engineering techniques and assist lead engineers across multiple project duties in the Construction market.

Responsibilities include design corrections, system design tasks, and supportive duties across safety, estimating, and field operations. Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills are essential, with US work authorization required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field.
• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program related to the department work.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
• Prior internship/related experience preferred.
• Campus or community involvement.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks applying standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Design of engineering systems; correct and update designs.
• Assist lead engineers with various project duties.
• Support for safety and health, estimating, pre-construction, field operations, quality and project management in construction markets.
