Job summary

GFT is seeking a Construction Management Intern for their New York City office for a mid-May through mid-August timeframe. You will gain real-world experience on a highly functioning team, assisting with construction observation, inspections, and project documentation while receiving guidance from seasoned leaders.

The internship emphasizes safety, quality, and timely communication as interns learn to support a range of projects and often convert to full-time roles upon successful completion.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
• Demonstrated interest in the construction industry through applied academic coursework, internships, or related work experiences.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to interface with all levels of personnel and management.
• Will require outside work in a variety of weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Support real client projects by participating in construction observation and/or inspection of construction activities.
• Interface with the project team and task managers.
• Review and update submittal status reports.
• Assist with preparing schedule reports.
• Maintain project files/documentation including logs.
• Manage online project document control system.
• Attend project meetings and assist with keeping minutes.
