Job summary

GFT is offering a Construction Management Internship in New York City, NY. The internship runs mid-May through mid-August with an hourly rate of $21.00–$28.00, depending on experience and location.

You will join a collaborative team, support real client projects through observation and inspection, and gain exposure to project controls and documentation management. Ideal candidates are enrolled in Construction Management or Civil Engineering programs, can interface with all levels of personnel,

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
• Demonstrated interest in the construction industry through applied academic coursework, internships, or related work experiences.
• Must have the ability to interface with all levels of personnel and management.
• Ability to thrive in a team environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Will require outside work in a variety of weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Support real client projects by participating in construction observation and/or inspection of construction activities.
• Interface with the project team and task managers.
• Review and update submittal status reports.
• Assist with preparing schedule reports.
• Maintain project files/documentation including logs.
• Manage online project document control system.
• Attend project meetings and assist with keeping minutes.
