Job summary

J. Thomas Property Services seeks a Commercial Construction Superintendent to oversee field operations across multiple active commercial sites.

You will direct crews, coordinate onsite activities, maintain schedules, and ensure quality and safety standards while resolving issues as they arise. The ideal candidate has 4+ years in commercial construction supervision and a hands-on leadership style, capable of traveling within ~60 miles of Annapolis, MD.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a Construction Superintendent or similar role in commercial construction.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations across multiple active commercial construction sites.
• Schedule, direct, and coordinate onsite crews to ensure safe, efficient work.
• Lead and train crew members, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Work hands-on with crews to maintain productivity and meet deadlines.
• Make informed decisions based on changing jobsite conditions.
• Start up new jobsites and establish organized, safe work environments.
• Coordinate onsite activities with project managers, subcontractors, and other team members.
• Develop and maintain short-term schedules to keep projects on track.
• Monitor daily progress and identify potential delays or obstacles.
• Coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, and onsite activities to support schedules.
• Communicate project updates, challenges, and solutions to the PM team.
• Coordinate subcontractors and other trades to minimize disruptions.
• Monitor jobsite quality and ensure work meets plans and standards.
• Identify and manage punch list items through completion.
• Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections; promote OSHA compliance.
