Job summary

Kimley-Horn is seeking engineering students to join our San Marcos, Texas office in 2027. This is not a remote position and interns will gain hands-on experience in civil/environmental projects, using software like AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, Excel and GIS.

You will assist with pre-construction design, permitting, analysis, and QC deliverables, learn regulatory practices, and collaborate with project teams to help realize client visions for the built environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an ABET-accredited engineering degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in Civil/Environmental, Mechanical, Biological, Biosystems, Chemical, Agricultural Engineering, or Engineering Technology.

Responsibilities

• Utilize technical software to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for clients.
• Contribute to pre-construction civil engineering design, planning, modification, permitting, and analysis for projects.
• Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to realize client visions.
• Develop familiarity with regulations and Kimley-Horn's practices and standards.
• Interns will learn software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Excel, Microstation, VISSIM, Open Roads, Synchro and GIS.
