Job summary

Versa Networks is seeking a hands-on Chief Information Security Officer to lead and execute our enterprise-wide security strategy, governance, and risk management. The role blends strategic thinking with tactical leadership, driving policy, and compliance while actively overseeing day-to-day operations.

This role requires a track record of building secure systems, managing risk, and embedding security into product and engineering practices across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, with at least 3+ years in a senior security leadership role.
• Proven experience implementing and operating modern security frameworks across on-prem, hybrid, and cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Deep technical understanding of security infrastructure, SIEM, EDR, network security, IAM, application security, and cryptography.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead the company’s information security vision, roadmap, and operating model.
• Align security initiatives with business goals, ensuring risk-based prioritization.
• Oversee and manage the security operations center (SOC), incident response, threat detection, and vulnerability management.
• Stay deeply engaged in security architecture reviews, secure SDLC practices, penetration testing, and cloud security configurations.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA, NIST.
• Engage with regulators, auditors, and enterprise customers on security matters.
