Job summary

ABB seeks a Breaker Repair Shop Supervisor for the Charleston, WV facility. The role oversees the service center’s breaker inspection and repair activities, ensuring safety and quality while guiding a small team in a hands-on shop environment.

The candidate will maintain ERP accuracy, process change orders, and coordinate parts and labor. Strong leadership, tooling, and problem-solving skills are essential for meeting internal targets.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an Electrical or Mechanical repair shop.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 10% of the time.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; leadership and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Preserve ABB’s Safety Culture in field and shop operations.
  • Inspect and repair breakers; manage change orders and ERP updates.
  • Order parts via SAP and supervise repair labor.
  • Coordinate shipping, delivery, and pickup of serviced breakers.

Join us and help run what runs the world.This position reports to:Service Manager__The Breaker repair Shop Supervisor is responsible for the ABB Service Center at Charleston, WV facility that mainly conducts breaker inspection and repair. This person develops practical and innovative ways to identify and meet goals. In this role you are responsible for work that is defined in scope, utilize your understanding and experience to execute business objectives, and must have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals. This position has a solid line reporting to the Field Services Operations Leader.The work model for the role is: OnsiteThis role is contributing to the Electrification Division in the US.You will be mainly accountable for:Preserve ABB’s Safety Culture on every aspect and as priority, in the field and always keeping an eye on co-workers. Perform Environmental Health and Safety inspections in various degreesMaintain an inventory tracking sheet for repairs going through the shop. Inspect and repair breakers coming to the shop.Prepare change orders and send them to customers for additional repairs. Process PO revisions and ensure ERP system is updated for sales and cost amountOrder parts through the ERP (SAP) needed for the repairs. Receive purchased items in ERP (SAP) system.Supervise labor on breaker repair if additional help/technicians are added to the team.
