Job summary

QAI Laboratories is seeking a Building Products Testing Technologist to join our Rancho Cucamonga, CA team. This full-time technical role focuses on hands-on product testing and adherence to national standards.

You will perform testing to ASTM/UL/CSA standards, analyze data, prepare reports, and support project managers while upholding QAI's quality management system. Candidates should have technical experience and be willing to work extended hours.

Qualifications

• Technologist/technician/licensed trade or equivalent experience.
• Ability to read, understand, and apply technical standards toward testing programs.
• Good Laboratory Practice skills essential for testing products.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; proficient with MS Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing of products following national standards such as ASTM, UL, CSA.
• Conduct supervised and/or unsupervised testing, data analysis, and test report preparation.
• Assist project managers, engineers and operations managers in the supervision of testing, data analysis and test report preparation.
• Become familiar with ASTM, UL, CSA and other standards, the US and Canadian standards system, and implementation of standards toward product certification, testing and inspection programs.
• Maintain a level of technical competence in the field of testing to ensure validity of test results.
• Maintain compliance with the QAI quality management system and code of conduct.
• Work with the QAI sales team to provide technical support, when requested.
• Other duties as may be assigned.
• Able to identify conformance to test, inspection, and/or certification criteria and communicate this to clients and throughout the organization.
