Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Ability to understand and communicate test procedures, specs, and results; mechanical aptitude.
• Familiarity with QA policies for test specimens; learn if needed.
• General construction/carpentry knowledge; use of power tools.
• Physically able to lift at least 50 pounds; flexible movement as required.

Responsibilities

• Manage entry level testing projects under supervision until cleared for independent testing.
• Track and condition test specimens.
• Set up and perform standard tests on building products per specs and procedures.
• Check calibration status of test equipment before testing.
• Analyze results and write concise test reports of procedures and outcomes.
• Learn test standards (e.g., AAMA, ASTM, NFPA).
• Maintain tools, equipment, inventory, and workspace cleanliness.
