Job summary

Intertek in Plano, TX is seeking a Building Products Field/Lab Test Technician to support the Building & Construction team. The role focuses on entry-level testing projects under direct supervision and involves significant travel, up to 50% of the time.

You will track specimens, set up tests, calibrate equipment, and analyze results to produce clear test reports. A path to independent testing develops as you learn AAMA, ASTM, NFPA and related standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Mechanical aptitude with ability to understand test procedures.
• Familiarity with QA policies related to test specimens.

Responsibilities

• Manage entry level testing projects under supervision until signed off.
• Track and condition test specimens.
• Set up and perform standard tests on building products per specifications.
• Check calibration status of test equipment prior to testing.
• Analyze results and write concise test reports.
• Learn test standards (AAMA, ASTM, NFPA, etc.).
• Maintain tools, equipment, inventory, and clean work area.
