Job summary

Advanced Air LLC in Hawthorne, CA seeks a hands‑on GSE Maintenance Technician to inspect, maintain, and repair ground support equipment and company vehicles. You will diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical issues and coordinate preventive maintenance schedules to ensure maximum fleet availability and regulatory compliance.

The role requires tracking service records, coordinating with vendors, and enforcing FAA/OSHA safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must have authorization to work in the U.S.
• Must have valid CA Driver’s license and clean driving record
• 3+ years of hands-on experience diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing fleet, GSE, or vehicle/heavy equipment
• Strong working knowledge of diesel, gasoline, electric, and hydraulic systems used in ground support equipment and vehicles
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to track costs, coordinate vendors, and juggle multiple priorities
• Experience with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word and Excel
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to push/pull/lift 75 lbs. for extended periods of time
• Ability to work efficiently under time constraints
• High School diploma or GED equivalent

Responsibilities

• Hands-On Maintenance and Repair: perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs on GSE and vehicles; diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues.
• Maintenance Program Management: develop and carry out preventive maintenance schedules per manufacturer specs and regulations.
• Ramp Response and Downtime Management: respond to equipment breakdowns and coordinate additional repair work to minimize downtime.
• Asset Tracking: maintain inventory and maintenance history using CMMS; organize shop, tools, and parts.
• Training and Documentation: ensure equipment has training materials; coordinate with supervisors on training records.
• Compliance and Safety: ensure FAA/OSHA and company safety standards; maintain audit-ready documentation.
• Vendor and Contractor Coordination: liaise with outside shops, parts suppliers, and equipment vendors.
• Reporting: provide fleet status, maintenance costs, downtime trends, and lifecycle insights to leadership.
