Job summary

Lake Land College seeks an instructor to teach courses and labs in the Automotive Technology Certificate program on-site. The position requires delivering instruction per approved outlines and coordinating with colleagues and administrators.

Responsibilities include preparing course guides, selecting texts, submitting purchase orders for materials, recording attendance and grades, and actively participating in college committees and student support services.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred.
• Teaching experience desired.
• Automotive technician experience required.
• Knowledge of diagnostic techniques.
• Ability to read and understand technical service manuals.
• Good communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses and labs in the Automotive Technology Certificate program.
• Prepare or revise guides for courses and submit to Administrator for review.
• Submit purchase orders for instructional materials and supplies.
• Report attendance and grades as prescribed by the Associate Dean.
• Attend faculty meetings called by administrative officers.
• Be on work site for 37.5 hours per week (30 minute lunch).
• Arrive at work site prior to the beginning of the shift and class time.
• Serve on committees for the betterment of the College.
• Assist in registration as needed.
• Assist students in meeting needs or solving problems and seek help when needed.
• Observe and enforce College regulations and inform the President of issues.
• Conduct oneself professionally and maintain equipment in area.
