Job summary

JCM Associates in Upper Marlboro, MD is seeking a motivated Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support the delivery of commercial mechanical and plumbing construction projects across MD, VA, and DC. This hands-on role works alongside a Project Manager and field Foreman, owning real deliverables on active projects and developing toward a PM role.

Procore, Bluebeam, and MS Office experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in mechanical/plumbing project management or related construction roles.
• Experience with a mechanical contractor or MEP team preferred.
• Field or trades background highly advantageous; hands-on installation experience encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Create, review, and manage submittals for mechanical and plumbing equipment and systems.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation including RFIs, change orders, meeting minutes, IOM manuals, and project reports.
• Serve as the point person for document management and ensure logs are current and accurate.
• Assist the PM with coordination, scheduling, procurement, and interaction with subcontractors and vendors.
