Highland Consulting Group is recruiting for an experienced Assistant Project Manager or Project Engineer in the Baltimore, MD area. The role focuses on commercial mechanical systems including piping, plumbing, HVAC and sheet metal, with a clear path to Project Management.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years as an Assistant Project Manager on large-scale projects, strong communication, budgeting, estimation, and negotiation skills, and the ability to lead multi-discipline meetings.

Qualifications

• Solid communication skills and ability to establish timelines and budgets.
• Experience in cost estimation and negotiating.
• Ability to multi-task and lead productive multi-discipline meetings.
• Proven track record of career stability and project management success.
• 3+ years as Assistant Project Manager with large-scale projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager in managing and supervising all phases of assigned projects.
• Manage the submittal process; respond to or create RFIs as needed.
• Assist in negotiating change orders and maintain logs; manage project budget and expenses.
• Interface with the Owner; assemble and maintain complete project records and close-out documents.
• Prepare and manage schedules; coordinate punch-list inspections with superintendent and Owner’s Representative; contract administration.
