Job summary

Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale, PA seeks a full-time Physician Assistant or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner to join our orthopedic practice with a focused role in hand and wrist care. The provider will support evaluation, treatment, and ongoing management of patients with hand, wrist, and upper-extremity conditions in outpatient and perioperative settings.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree and graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program, or completion of an accredited nurse practitioner program.
• Current Pennsylvania PA or CRNP license and national certification appropriate to the role.
• Current DEA registration, as applicable to the position and prescribing responsibilities.
• Orthopedic, surgical, or outpatient clinical experience preferred; hand, wrist, and upper-extremity care strongly preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, teamwork, and patient education skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with the hand and wrist surgeon and within the orthopedic practice team.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients with hand, wrist, and upper-extremity conditions (history, focused exam, documentation).
• Collaborate with the hand and wrist surgeon to develop and implement treatment plans.
• Provide follow-up care for surgical and non-surgical patients and coordinate next steps with the surgeon.
• Support clinic procedures and perioperative care within credentialing and scope of practice.
• Assist with perioperative care, including patient preparation and postoperative assessments.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, rehabilitation expectations, and wound care.
• Order and review imaging and communicate results with the surgeon.
• Maintain accurate EHR documentation, orders, referrals, and other records.
• Coordinate care with nursing, medical assistants, therapy services, and other specialists.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance outcomes and clinic efficiency.
