Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking a part-time Occupational Therapist for the IL Outpatient Hand Clinic in Libertyville. This role focuses on evaluating patients, developing plans of care, fabricating assistive devices, and coordinating with physicians and team members.

The position requires BLS and a state OT license, with a Monday-Friday schedule including occasional Saturday coverage. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication, documentation accuracy, and the ability to manage caseloads

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state where you work.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers (AHA) within 90 days, unless exempt.
• No prior work experience required.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Interpret physician referrals and evaluate patient abilities to establish a care plan.
• Provide and/or fabricate assistive devices and splints to improve independence.
• Monitor outcomes and adjust treatment plans; update physicians and the care team.
• Complete documentation per policy; discharge planning and patient/family education.
• Assist with supervision of aides and OT students where applicable.
