Job summary

Norman Regional Health System in Oklahoma is seeking a Certified Hand Therapist to lead specialized rehabilitation of the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. You will evaluate patients, develop recovery plans, and supervise therapy staff in an outpatient setting.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree with licensure as PT or OT, 3+ years in upper-extremity rehab, and CHT credentials. You will collaborate with hand surgeons and other clinicians to optimize recovery and functional outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• DPT or OT degree preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited OT program.
• 3+ years of upper-extremity rehab experience.
• Current state PT or OT license.
• Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential (preferred).
• Current CPR/BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patient condition and establish plan of care.
• Provide therapeutic interventions appropriate to age and disability of the patient.
• Document delivery of Occupational Therapy services.
• Directs and supervises activities of Occupational Therapy Assistants, students and support personnel.
• Design, fabricate, fit, and adjust custom orthoses and splints for hand and upper-extremity conditions.
• Educate patients on orthosis wear, care, and precautions.
• Treat patients with orthopedic, traumatic, burn, tendon, nerve, and postoperative conditions.
• Provide scar management, edema control, wound care, and return-to-work rehabilitation as appropriate.
• Collaborate with hand surgeons, orthopedic physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and case discussions.
