The operator must hold a Commercial Driver’s License, Class B, with Passenger and Airbrake endorsements, pass required physicals and DMV checks, have three years of licensed driving experience, complete 40 hours of classroom and 20 hours of behind‑the‑wheel training, and hold First Aid/CPR certification along with a WV School Bus Operator’s

Qualifications

• Holds a Commercial Driver’s License, Class B, Passenger and Airbrake Endorsements
• Passes the required physical examination
• Has three years of experience as a licensed driver
• Passes the Department of Motor Vehicles Driving Record Check
• Passes the Drug/Alcohol Screening
• Completes 40 hours of required classroom training and 20 hours of behind the wheel training
• Holds First Aid/CPR Certification
• Length of Employment: 200 Days

Responsibilities

• The half daySchool Bus Operator is responsible for operating school buses and other school transportation vehicles as provided by the West Virginia Board of Education.
• Responsibilities: The half daySchool Bus Operator shall have the responsibilities and duties as outlined in The Putnam County Schools Job Description Handbook.
• Location And Length Of Route(S) May Vary Determined by Coordinator of Transportation Dependent Upon the number and/or location of students requiring transportation services.
• Daily Schedule: Pre-Trip – 15 Minutes prior to pullout time (AM only).
• Currently - Pull Out Time (PM) – 1:45 - 4:30
• Post-Trip – 15 Minutes
