Job summary

Putnam County Schools in Buffalo Area, West Virginia is seeking a qualified Bus Operator (S124) to transport students safely on designated routes. The position runs about 200 days with a full-time schedule and requires a valid CDL, passenger and airbrake endorsements.

You will perform pre-trip and post-trip duties, adhere to district policies, complete required training, and maintain a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• Holds a high school diploma or GED or TASC.
• Holds a Commercial Driver’s License, Class B, Passenger and Airbrake Endorsements.
• Passes the required physical examination.
• Has three years of experience as a licensed driver.
• Passes the Department of Motor Vehicles Driving Record Check.
• Passes the Drug/Alcohol Screening.
• Completes 40 hours of required classroom training and 20 hours of behind the wheel training.
• Holds First Aid/CPR Certification.
• Holds a West Virginia School Bus Operator’s Certificate.

Responsibilities

• The School Bus Operator shall operate school buses and transportation vehicles as provided by the West Virginia Board of Education.
• Responsibilities and duties per Putnam County Schools Job Description Handbook.
• Location and length of route may vary depending on the number/location of students requiring transportation services.
