Job summary

Stemilt Growers is seeking a Bagging Station Operator to maintain the bagging machine and ensure accurate operation of this station. This full-time, year-round position runs day shift from 5:30 am to 2:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with some variation due to production.

A pre-employment drug test may be required. Responsibilities include leading a 2–6 person crew, learning machine programs, keeping pace with the line, and maintaining a clean, efficient work area while following Stemilt pack

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to present information to customers, clients, and other employees.
• Ability to apply common sense to instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to read and understand Stemilt pack schedules.
• Oracle and Discoverer capabilities.
• Intermediate computer skills.
• Must read, speak and write English.
• Regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds; occasionally up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance of bagging machine, including cleaning as necessary.
• Learn programs and settings to maximize efficiency.
• Direct crew of 2 to 6 employees packing bags from machine.
• Displays an excellent ability to communicate.
• Maintains pace with production line.
• Maintains efficient and clean work area.
• Know Stemilt fruit grades.
• Consistently striving to improve bagging capabilities of the machine.
• Must be able to compile daily data and send to appropriate groups.
• Utilize the full spectrum of tools at hand to maximize grower returns.
• Mechanically inclined.
• May encompass other duties than those listed.
