Job summary

Stemilt Growers is seeking a Night Shift Bagging Machine Operator to maintain the bagging station and ensure efficient operation. You will learn machine programs, supervise a small crew, and communicate effectively with teammates to keep pace with production.

The role requires reliability, attention to quality, and the ability to read schedules and basic data. Benefits are included; lifts up to 40 lb, with some tasks requiring 3:30pm–1:00am shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to present information effectively to customers, clients, and other employees.
• Ability to read Stemilt pack schedules.
• Must read, speak and write English.
• Intermediate computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate the bagging machine to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
• Learn and adjust programs and settings to maximize throughput.
• Direct a crew of 2 to 6 employees packing bags from the machine.
• Communicate clearly and maintain pace with the production line.
• Keep area clean and organized and learn Stemilt fruit grades.
• Compile daily data and share with the relevant groups.

Number of openings: 1 Fulltime, Year Round

Location: A line- Euclid

Working Shift: Night shift

Hours & Work Days: 3:30pm – 1:00am Monday – Friday; Hours may vary depending on production.

These positions will require a pre-employment drug test.

Summary:

The objective of this position is to maintain the efficiency and operation of the bagging machine and ensure the timely and accurate operation of this station by performing the following duties.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to read and understand Stemilt pack schedules.
• Oracle and Discoverer capabilities.
• Intermediate computer skills.
• Must be able to read, speak and write English.
• Must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds. Occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for maintenance of bagging machine, including cleaning as necessary.
• Must learn programs and settings to maximize efficiency.
• Direct crew of 2 to 6 employees packing bags from machine.
• Displays an excellent ability to communicate.
• Maintains pace with production line.
• Maintains efficient and clean work area.
• Know Stemilt fruit grades.
• Consistently striving to improve bagging capabilities of the machine.
• Must be able to compile daily data and send to appropriate groups.
• Utilize the full spectrum of tools at hand to maximize grower returns.
• Mechanically inclined.
• May encompass other duties than those listed.
