Job description

The World Equestrian Center Calluna Spa inside The Equestrian Hotel is seeking a Spa Hair Stylist.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Perform hair services meeting established guidelines and guest expectations.
2. Use universal precautions during services.
3. Assess contraindications to prevent service issues.
4. Maintain product knowledge and current spa service knowledge.
5. Recommend products for home use.
6. Perform treatments based on certifications.
7. Suggest additional beneficial treatments.
8. Explain product ingredients and benefits to guests.
9. Perform various hair cutting techniques including precision, razor, clipper, and thinning shears.
10. Style hair using tools like rollers, curling irons, etc.
11. Create updos with extensions, braiding, etc.
12. Perform chemical services such as coloring, perms, and straightening.
13. Conduct shampoo treatments and scalp massages.
14. Manage appointment timings and schedules.
15. Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
16. Notify Spa Director of product needs.
17. Maintain client records with treatment notes.
18. Complete assigned side work and attend meetings and trainings.
19. Disinfect equipment daily.
20. Assist with facility maintenance and event preparations.
21. Report incidents or accidents.
22. Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

• Lift up to 25 lbs.
• Stand for extended periods.
• Perform balancing, reaching, walking, and other physical activities.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 3 years of active hairstyling experience with color services.
• Customer service experience, preferably in a spa.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to explain treatments and recommend products.
• Organized, energetic, and professional.
• Comfortable with various hairstyling tools and products.
• Availability to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
