Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience designing technical solutions using object-oriented design concepts.
• 3+ years of scripting in Python, Perl or JavaScript.
• Experience on Hadoop and/or other Map Reduce platforms.
• Experience with Hive, Pig, Sqoop, Flume.
• Experience with NO-SQL databases (HBase, Cassandra, MongoDB).
• Strong database design, optimization and scalability knowledge.
• Excellent communication and SDLC, including testing and deployment.
• Unix-like OS proficiency and Git version control.
• Track record of open source contributions.
• Passion for resolving user pain points through good design.

Responsibilities

• Full lifecycle application development.
• Design, code and debug software.
• Perform software analysis, risk analysis, reliability analysis.
• Participate in software modeling and simulation.
• Integrate new software solutions with existing systems.
• Extract and reverse engineer existing code.
• Collaborate with UX and engineering teams to develop demo-ready products and tools using current stacks.
• Foster innovation, prototyping and participation in hackathons.
• Explore new technologies, features and tools.
• Maintain flexible development strategies and seek improvements continually.
