Job summary

Oracle in Hartford, CT is seeking technical engineers to design and build high-scale, cloud-based data processing systems for health data platforms. You will participate in the full software lifecycle, from design to production, focusing on latency, throughput, and reliability.

The role requires US citizenship with the ability to obtain federal security clearance, a CS-related degree or equivalent experience, and hands-on work with Hadoop/Kafka/HBase plus Java and Ruby.

Qualifications

• US citizen with willingness to obtain federal security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience with distributed data processing systems (e.g. Hadoop, Kafka, HBase).
• Hands-on coding with modern procedural languages such as Java and Ruby.
• Good understanding of design concepts for distributed systems.
• Effective written and verbal communication, including proposals, specs, diagrams, and presentations.
• 1–6 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Participate in design discussions to build distributed, scalable, fault-tolerant software systems.
• Implement cloud services on top of OCI infrastructure.
• Engage in the full software lifecycle from design to QA to production.
• Invest in engineering and operational practices to maintain high quality.
• Optimize data processing pipelines to improve throughput and latency.
• Leverage tooling to develop, build, deploy, and troubleshoot software.
