Job summary

Smithfield Foods seeks a Food Safety & Quality Assurance Leader to ensure products meet safety and quality standards across production. You will conduct sanitation checks, enforce HACCP and USDA regulations, and oversee FSQA programs with practical actions in collaboration with plant management and the USDA.

You will own the SQF system, drive continuous improvement, train staff, and lead a team of FSQA professionals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; 2+ years in food safety or quality assurance preferred.
• Proven ability to train, coach, and mentor staff or lead a process or project.
• Familiarity with meat processing, USDA, HACCP, SSOP, and SQF; ability to uphold standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead Food Safety, Quality Assurance, SQF and Regulatory programs with accurate documentation.
• Drive continuous improvement by managing HACCP, SSOP, and product specs with FSQA and Operations.
• Own and maintain the SQF system; communicate updates and ensure team adoption.
• Manage FSQA staff assignments, training, and development.
