Job summary

The Pocatello/Chubbuck School District No. 25 is seeking an Arches Habilitative Technician to assist in a transition program for 18-21 year olds.

This role supports students with significant needs, implements behavioral strategies, and aids in functional life skills and academics. Under supervision of teachers and the principal, the paraprofessional will participate in IEP implementation, work in a classroom setting, and may encounter exposure to body fluids.

Qualifications

• Must be highly qualified.
• Requires high school diploma or equivalent AND successful completion of a minimum of 32 academic core college credits that will lead to a Bachelors Degree OR must pass the ETS Paraprofessional Praxis Assessment Test.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with significant personal care, behavior interventions, and life skills.
• Support implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEP).
• Work under supervision of a special education teacher, classroom teacher, and principal.
• Maintain safety and confidentiality; lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds.
