Job summary

Cherry Creek School District in Colorado is seeking a Transition Program Para Educator to support 18-21 year old students in a dedicated Transition Program classroom. Under the supervision of a licensed staff member, you will help individuals or small groups with basic curriculum work, reinforce instruction, and support discipline procedures.

You will provide technical physical care, maintain a clean work environment, and coordinate parent conferences as needed.

Qualifications

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
• High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma required
• No professional work experience required
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Intermediate oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work alone and with others
• Advanced interpersonal relations skills
• Advanced organizational skills
• Ability to implement behavior modification techniques
• Ability to diffuse and manage volatile and stressful situations

Responsibilities

• Assist students with classroom activities and small groups.
• Implement accommodations and programs under licensed staff guidance; maintain progress records.
• Provide technical physical care for students as needed.
• Safely transport students using District van.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
