Job summary

Wisconsin Stamping & Manufacturing is seeking a Haas Mill Machinist/Set-up to join our 1st shift operations at our DJS Manufacturing facility in Wisconsin. The candidate will independently set up, program and operate Haas Mills, read blueprints, and work on high-tolerance components critical to diverse industries.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read blueprints and understand shop drawings.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong focus on quality, safety and continuous improvement.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up, program and operate Haas Mills and other equipment independently.
• Machine complex, high-tolerance parts from blueprints and models.
• Verify dimensions and tolerances using calipers, micrometers and other tools.
• Perform machine alignment and zero/home procedures to maintain peak performance.
• Troubleshoot machine problems and resolve basic manufacturing issues.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

1st shift: Monday through Thursday 6:00 am-2:00 pm

Essential duties and responsibilities

• Must be able to independently setup, program and operate Haas Mills and other equipment.
• Machine complex, high tolerance parts and components from blueprints and models.
• Verify dimensions, alignments and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as calipers, gage blocks, micrometers and dial calipers.
• Perform some machine alignment procedures and machine zero home procedures to keep equipment at peak operating performance.
• Able to troubleshoot machine problems.
• Make routine decisions and use problem solving to resolve basic manufacturing issues or seek assistance.

Qualification requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and other shop drawing aids.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong orientation toward quality, safety and continuous improvement.
• Excellent attendance and a positive, 'can do' attitude.

The following experience is a plus but not required

• Previous experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment
