Job summary

Morton Grove Park District is seeking a part-time Gymnastics Coordinator to lead recreational gymnastics programs, plan curricula, supervise staff, and maintain safety standards. The role requires strong communication and organizational skills and involves coordinating with parents and park district leadership.

The position reports to the Recreation Supervisor-Athletics and emphasizes staff development, program quality, and safe progression for participants in a support-driven, community-focused

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
• Minimum 1–3 years of experience as a gymnast and/or gymnastics instructor or coach.
• Experience working with children and youth.
• Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications (or ability to obtain within first 3 months; training provided).
• USA Gymnastics Safety Certification and Professional Membership (district-paid; required) by February 1.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Ability to spot gymnasts and lift equipment (up to 75 lbs.).

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and coordinate gymnastics classes.
• Supervise daily activities of gymnastics instructors to ensure quality instruction and safety.
• Train, schedule, and evaluate instructors; make recommendations for hiring.
• Create and distribute staff schedules each session.
• Lead gymnastics staff meetings and trainings.
• Monitor class ratios and staff performance to ensure efficiency and safety.
• Maintain program policies and communicate them clearly to staff and parents.
• Assist in preparing seasonal brochure content and promotional material.
• Attend staff and planning meetings with the Recreation Supervisor.
