Are you an experienced, accomplished gymnastics coach with a desire to share your expertise with those eager to learn? If so, our opportunity as the Gymnastics Optional Coach could be right for you!

At the Darien Y, we have a top-notch gymnastics team/program, and we need your experience and expertise to help us continue our devotion to having one of the best programs in the area.

With numerous regional and local honors to our name, our aim is to continue the tradition with exceptionally talented coaches like you leading the team. We believe in you and support your journey to develop your full potential while you support our athletes in developing theirs.

  • Minimum of 5 to 8 years coaching experience preferred. Strong gymnastic background competing and/or coaching at competitive levels.
  • Strong background in Bars and Vault coaching is a must.
  • Comprehensive understanding of gymnastics fundamentals, concepts, progressions, and practice organization.
  • Excellent communication skills, and positive team-building motivational skills.
  • Ability to travel, work extended hours, evenings, and weekends as Developmental and optional teams’ schedules demand.
  • Positive teaching methodology leading to the creation of a motivating, healthy, and productive training environment.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment, and to lift, assist and spot children up to 150 pounds using proper spotting techniques.
