Job summary

The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Gymnastics Instructor to join our team at the Mel Korum Family YMCA in Puyallup, WA. The role focuses on leading gymnastics classes for children, creating safe, progressive lesson plans, and fostering YMCA core values.

Responsibilities include instruction, safety enforcement, and maintaining participant progress records while engaging with parents and staff to support youth development in a healthy community setting.

Qualifications

• Six months or more of experience teaching gymnastics and/or personal gymnastics experience preferred.
• Commitment to diversity and inclusive environment.
• Positive attitude with experience working with children of all ages.

Responsibilities

• Prepare lesson plans with progression appropriate to age and ability.
• Instruct gymnasts safely and effectively.
• Outline class plans to keep children moving and engaged.
• Enforce safety rules in the gymnastics gym.
• Finish classes with a group activity and relate to YMCA values.
