Job summary

The Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking a Gymnastics Instructor to join our team in Willow Grove, PA. This role involves providing a supportive and safe environment for children to learn gymnastics, while developing their skills and upholding YMCA standards. You will be part of a dedicated team that focuses on positive community impact.

Candidates should have experience working with children, along with strong communication skills and at least 3-5 years in a gymnastics setting. Certifications like USAG Safety are preferred. Join us to make a difference!

Qualifications

• 21+ years of age, 3-5 years of experience in gymnastics setting.
• Strong knowledge of gymnastics competitions including experience at the National state and/or national level.
• Enjoyment from working with children and keeping positive relationships with their parents.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, encouraging, and supportive environment for learning YMCA programs.
• Arrive early and be prepared with equipment set up.
• Evaluate program skills and complete progress reports.

Qualifications

• 21+ years of age, 3-5 years of experience in gymnastics setting
• Some college or equivalent
• USAG Safety Certification for Competitions Preferred with strong knowledge of gymnastics competitions including experience at the National state and/or national level
• Have strong communication skills with desire to meet everyone at their level of experience
• Enjoyment from working with children and keeping positive relationships with their parents

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe environment, encouraging, and supportive environment that allows members and participants to learn YMCA programs and assist in learning the specific progressive or competitive program
• Arrive at least 15 minutes before scheduled class and be prepared with equipment set up and ready to begin at scheduled time
• Evaluate program skills; complete progress reports for each session; complete communications for parents; complete incident reports; take attendance
• Assist in the instruction of program skills and character development objectives and techniques in accordance with YMCA standards
• Provide supervision to program participants and actively participate in all aspects of the program
• Wear proper attire in accordance with YMCA standards
• Manage participant behavior using collaborative approach with supervision and parents
• Follow approved positive support techniques to develop and refine gymnast’s skills
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as required
