Job summary

Greater Philadelphia YMCA in Boyertown, PA is seeking a part-time, hourly gymnastics coach to provide a safe, supportive environment for learning through YMCA programs.

You will arrive early, set up equipment, and help evaluate skills; communicate progress and incidents with parents; participate in staff trainings and contribute to positive youth development.

Qualifications

• 21+ years of age and 3–5 years of experience in a gymnastics setting.
• Some college or equivalent.
• USAG Safety Certification for Competitions preferred with knowledge of gymnastics competitions at state and/or national level.
• Strong communication skills; ability to connect with participants and parents.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, encouraging environment for members and participants to learn YMCA programs.
• Arrive at least 15 minutes before class; set up equipment and be ready on time.
• Evaluate program skills; complete progress reports; communicate with parents; file incident reports; track attendance.
• Assist in instruction of program skills and character development per YMCA standards.
• Supervise participants and engage in all aspects of the program; wear appropriate YMCA attire.
• Manage participant behavior with a collaborative approach with supervision and parents.

Part Time, Hourly | $13.00-$18.00 per hour

What is needed for this job

• 21+ years of age, 3-5 years of experience in gymnastics setting
• Some college or equivalent
• USAG Safety Certification for Competitions Preferred with strong knowledge of gymnastics competitions including experience at the National state and/or national level
• Have strong communication skills with desire to meet everyone at their level of experience
• Enjoyment from working with children and keeping positive relationships with their parents

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe environment, encouraging, and supportive environment that allows members and participants to learn YMCA programs and assist in learning the specific progressive or competitive program
• Arrive at least 15 minutes before scheduled class and be prepared with equipment set up and ready to begin at scheduled time
• Evaluate program skills; complete progress reports for each session; complete communications for parents; complete incident reports; take attendance
• Assist in the instruction of program skills and character development objectives and techniques in accordance with YMCA standards
• Provide supervision to program participants and actively participate in all aspects of the program
• Wear proper attire in accordance with YMCA standards
• Manage participant behavior using collaborative approach with supervision and parents
• Follow approved positive support techniques to develop and refine gymnast’s skills
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as required
