Qualifications

  • 15+ years of age and 2+ years of experience in a gymnastics setting.
  • Some high school education.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to meet everyone at their level of experience.
  • Ability to physically assist (spot) gymnasts as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a safe, encouraging, and supportive environment for members and participants to learn gymnastics.
  • Arrive at least 15 minutes before scheduled class and prepare equipment.
  • Evaluate program skills; complete progress reports; communicate with parents; complete incident reports; take attendance.
  • Assist in instruction of program skills and character development per YMCA standards.
  • Provide supervision to participants and actively participate in all aspects of the program.
  • Wear proper YMCA attire as required.
  • Manage participant behavior with supervision and parents.
  • Follow approved positive support techniques to develop gymnast skills.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.

We spend our days positively impacting the community around us. We help children reach their potential, enact age-appropriate goals, and we change lives in our Y community.

Responsibilities
  • Provide a safe, encouraging, and supportive environment that allows members and participants to learn YMCA programs and have an enjoyable gymnastics experience.
  • Arrive at least 15 minutes before scheduled class and be prepared with equipment set up and ready to begin at scheduled time.
  • Evaluate program skills; complete progress reports for each session; communicate with parents; complete incident reports; take attendance.
  • Assist in the instruction of program skills and character development objectives and techniques in accordance with YMCA standards.
  • Provide supervision to program participants and actively participate in all aspects of the program.
  • Wear proper attire in accordance with YMCA standards.
  • Manage participant behavior using a collaborative approach with supervision and parents.
  • Follow approved positive support techniques to develop and refine gymnast’s skills.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
Requirements
  • 15+ years of age; 2+ years of experience in a gymnastics setting
  • Some high school
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to meet everyone at their level of experience
  • Ability to physically assist (spot) individuals through skills with a clear understanding of developing a gymnast
