Job summary

The Greater Philadelphia YMCA is hiring a gymnastics coach for a part-time, hourly position at the Royersford location. The role involves delivering safe, engaging gymnastics instruction and supporting youth development within YMCA programs.

Qualifications

• 21+ years of age, 3-5 years of experience in a gymnastics setting.
• Some college or equivalent.
• USAG Safety Certification for Competitions Preferred with strong knowledge of gymnastics competitions including experience at the National state and/or national level.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, encouraging, and supportive environment that allows members and participants to learn YMCA programs and assist in learning the specific progressive or competitive program.
• Arrive at least 15 minutes before scheduled class and be prepared with equipment set up and ready to begin at scheduled time.
• Evaluate program skills; complete progress reports for each session; complete communications for parents; complete incident reports; take attendance.
• Assist in the instruction of program skills and character development objectives and techniques in accordance with YMCA standards.
• Provide supervision to program participants and actively participate in all aspects of the program.
• Wear proper attire in accordance with YMCA standards.
• Manage participant behavior using collaborative approach with supervision and parents.
• Follow approved positive support techniques to develop and refine gymnast’s skills.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
