Job summary

AST SpaceMobile in the USA is looking for a Gateway Antenna Engineer (Level 1) to monitor and troubleshoot our global gateway and telemetry network, with responsibilities for spare parts and warehouse management and occasional field travel to gateway sites for hands-on maintenance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Satellite or Cellular Communications.
• Hands-on experience with RF systems, high-power amplifiers, converters, antenna drive systems, and baseband equipment.
• Solid knowledge of IP networks, fiber optics, modems, multiplexers, and broadband systems.
• Proficiency in remote monitoring tools, system diagnostics, and remote desktop platforms.
• Experience with spare parts inventory and warehouse management practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex systems with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated experience with ticketing, monitoring, and fault management tools.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot anomalies and network failures, conduct root-cause analysis, and elevate as required.
• Maintain detailed incident documentation, manage trouble tickets, and generate reports.
• Ensure service assurance through real-time monitoring and incident resolution.
• Provide first-line, customer-facing technical support (phone, email, chat).
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on satellite teleport systems and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for escalations, upgrades, and system changes.
• Operate and maintain fault management systems to track network health and performance.
• Manage spare parts inventory and warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, stock-level tracking, and record-keeping.
• Coordinate spare parts logistics and delivery to gateway sites to support maintenance and repair activities.
• Travel to Gateway sites across the US and Canada for on-site equipment replacement, troubleshooting, and preventive/corrective maintenance.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Gateway Antenna Engineer (Level 1) to join our growing team in the USA, owning day-to-day monitoring and troubleshooting of our global network of Gateways and Telemetry stations. This role also carries responsibility for spare parts and warehouse management, along with field travel to Gateway sites for hands-on equipment replacement and troubleshooting.

Qualifications** **

Education:

Degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field.

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Satellite or Cellular Communications.

• Must be available for on-site work at the Company’s office location, with flexibility to travel to Gateway sites as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb ladders and work in confined spaces or elevated locations to access antenna and RF equipment.
• Ability to travel domestically (US) and internationally to Canada, including maintaining a valid driver’s license and passport.
• Ability to work flexible 24x7 shifts, including weekends, based on company needs.
