Job summary

Glacier Valley Transit in Girdwood, Alaska is seeking a full-time Shuttle Driver to operate on assigned routes. You will drive a bus, perform safety checks, and maintain a positive rapport with passengers.

Responsibilities include reporting safety issues, collecting fares, coordinating with the Operations Manager, and adhering to DOT requirements. The role offers year-round and seasonal schedules, housing options, and benefits including insurance and a 401(k).

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Must submit to and pass a DOT physical at employer’s expense.
• Position is subject to FTA pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing.

We are currently looking for Full-Time Drivers to join the Glacier Valley Transit team in beautiful Girdwood, Alaska!

What You'll Do

• Drives bus over an assigned route.
• Checks bus operating systems to ensure operating safety and for maintaining a good rapport with the passengers served.
• Examines bus to insure its proper mechanical operation, including review of all safety features.
• Reports any dangerous conditions that could jeopardize the safety of the passenger or other members of the public.
• Collects bus fares and answers passengers' questions in a professional and congenial manner.
• Maintains contact with the Operations Manager and reports current position and conditions affecting the operation of the route as required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
