Job summary

Glacier Valley Transit in Girdwood, Alaska is seeking a full-time Shuttle Driver to operate on assigned routes. You will drive a bus, perform safety checks, and maintain a positive rapport with passengers.

Responsibilities include reporting safety issues, collecting fares, coordinating with the Operations Manager, and adhering to DOT requirements. The role offers year-round and seasonal schedules, housing options, and benefits including insurance and a 401(k).

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Must submit to and pass a DOT physical at employer’s expense.
• Position is subject to FTA pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Drives bus over an assigned route.
• Checks bus operating systems to ensure safety and a good rapport with passengers.
• Examines bus to ensure proper mechanical operation including safety features.
• Reports dangerous conditions that could jeopardize passenger safety.
• Collects bus fares and answers passengers’ questions professionally.
• Maintains contact with the Operations Manager and reports current position and conditions affecting the route.
