Job summary

Stantec seeks an Environmental Scientist to lead permitting strategy, NEPA-based assessments, and environmental approvals across Gulf region projects. The role involves wildlife habitat assessments, wetland delineations, and coordination with agencies to secure licenses.

You will travel up to 75% and may require extended field stays, supporting energy, transportation, and development initiatives with a strong emphasis on collaboration and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Understanding of NEPA requirements and related environmental regulations.
• Experience leading delineations and environmental permitting.
• Proven QA/QC practices and multi-project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Support projects and client relationships in gas pipelines, LNG, solar, and energy projects.
• Lead teams in wetland delineations, species habitat assessments, land use mapping, and surveys.
• Coordinate agency communications and guide project teams to on-time completion.
• Develop work plans and assemble project teams while ensuring scope and compliance.
• Provide mentorship to early career staff and supervise where appropriate.
