Job summary

Stantec seeks an Environmental Scientist to lead permitting strategy, environmental assessments, and regulatory support across the Gulf region, including municipal, state, and federal approvals. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, manage field surveys, and coordinate with agencies to ensure compliant project execution.

The role requires 3–5 years of delineation experience, NEPA familiarity, and strong QA/QC values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in environmental science, rangeland science, biological resources or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience leading delineations, preferably in the Gulf Region (TX, OK, LA, MS, AR).
• Local, state, and Federal compliance and environmental permitting experience is a plus.
• Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) or other applicable professional environmental certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead permitting strategy and environmental assessment for projects.
• Coordinate agency communications and manage field surveys.
• Oversee work plans, project teams, and task completion.
• Establish QA/QC and safety plans.
• Mentor junior staff with potential direct supervision.
