Job summary

Guilford Technical Community College (GTCC) seeks a Guided Entry Career Coach/Advisor to provide proactive, career-aligned advising for students in competitive Guided Entry Programs at the Jamestown Campus. The role focuses on readiness planning, prerequisite progression, and connecting students with academic and support resources.

Initial funding comes from GTCC’s Title III project, with potential to sustain beyond the grant period based on funding and institutional need.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a accredited college/university in counseling, education, student development or related field.
• Master’s degree in counseling or higher education preferred.
• Three years of postsecondary student services or related experience required.
• Experience with diverse student populations and career coaching.
• Experience using SIS/tech platforms to maintain student records.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive advising for students pursuing Guided Entry Programs.
• Identify educational pathways aligned with interests and career goals.
• Develop individualized readiness and progression plans.
• Collaborate with faculty, admissions, and student services to promote success.
