Job summary

White Bear Lake Area School District is seeking a School Guidance Counselor for a long-term substitute position at Mariner Middle School, White Bear Lake, MN. The role is a 1.0 FTE, Monday–Friday, 8:10am–4:10pm, serving grades 6–8.

The candidate will assist with academic planning, goal setting, and postsecondary options, under supervision of the Building Principal. Required: Bachelor's degree with counseling coursework and MN School Counselor License; Master’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with coursework in School Guidance Counseling or related field.
• Moderate experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Master's degree preferred.

Position Summary:

Performs intermediate professional work in working with students from diverse cultural, economic, and ability backgrounds to assist students with academic planning, personal goal setting, post secondary options, post high school opportunities, family systems/change and crisis intervention., and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Building Principal.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree with coursework in School Guidance Counselor, or related field and moderate experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree preferred.

Special Requirements:

MinnesotaSchool Counselor LicenseRequired.
