Job summary

Juliet Italian Kitchen is seeking a Host to warmly welcome guests and manage seating to ensure a smooth dining experience. You will greet guests, manage reservations and walk-ins, and coordinate with servers to balance flow.

You will maintain a seating chart, inform guests of wait times, accommodate special seating requests, and ensure tables are presented properly before guests are seated. A friendly, outgoing demeanor and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous host experience of at least 1 year.
• Ability to stand for long periods (up to 5 hours).
• Excellent communication skills, clear and effective.
• Exceptional grooming habits.
• Outgoing personality and warm demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly as they arrive at the restaurant.
• Open the front door for guests when possible.
• Manage reservations and walk-ins to seat as many people as possible.
• Maintain a seating chart and stagger seating when needed.
• Collaborate with servers to ensure smooth operations.
• Record guest names and party sizes when seating is limited.
• Politely locate guests when a table becomes available.
• Provide guests with estimated waiting times.
• Accommodate special seating requests and balance customer flow.
• Seat guests based on preferences and server availability.
• Offer menus, place settings, and share server name upon seating.
• Inspect tables for proper presentation before seating.
• Relay messages to servers and buspersons as needed.
• Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
