Job summary

LOCAL Public Eatery in Dallas is seeking a friendly Guest Services Team member to greet guests, manage reservations, and ensure a memorable dining experience from arrival to departure.

You will work closely with the team, handle takeout orders, answer phones, and help welcome guests with warmth, fun, and professionalism. Local eatery values kindness, growth, and community.

Qualifications

• Must have or be able to obtain valid local and/or state Food Handler and Alcohol Server permits.
• Able to stand/walk for prolonged periods; lift up to 50 lbs.
• Strong teamwork and communication; guest-focused service.
• Willing to learn and grow in hospitality disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and provide attentive service throughout the dining experience.
• Manage party sizes, reservations, wait lists, and quote wait times.
• Escort guests to tables and inform servers of special needs.
• Answer phones pleasantly and handle inquiries.
• Assist with takeout orders, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
• Resolve guest concerns with urgency and care.
• Complete opening/closing duties and keep service areas organized.
• Enforce age verification for alcohol in line with state law.
• Follow all food safety and service procedures.

Job description

As a member of the Guest Services Team, you are responsible for greeting guests at the door and welcoming them in. You exude friendliness and fun and take pride in anticipating your guests’ needs and providing an experience they will remember. As a team-player, you work closely with your team and support them to deliver the very best.

Duties

• Provide guests with friendly and attentive service throughout their dining experience. Impress them with your warmth, passion and care from the moment they enter the restaurant!
• Exude professionalism, friendliness and fun towards guests and partners alike.
• Greet guests warmly and enthusiastically immediately as they enter the restaurant.
• Manage party sizes, reservations, and wait lists to handle guest needs, accurately quote wait times, and maintain the flow of the restaurant.
• Escort guests to their table. Engage them in conversation, explain our online menu accessibility, and pass along any pertinent information that may enhance their experience to their server.
• Answer the telephone in a pleasant manner and respond appropriately to all inquiries.
• Assist with handling takeout orders. Ensure timeliness, accuracy, organization, and payment.
• Thank guests for visiting as they depart the restaurant and inquire about their experience.
• Resolve guest complaints with a sense of urgency, poise, and good judgment. It’s Your Business.
• Complete any assigned opening, side work, and closing duties to set your team up for success. Stock, clean, and organize the guest service stand.
• Reinforce guest identification requirements and age restrictions for alcohol sales in accordance with state law.
• Follow all food and alcohol service and handling safety precautions and procedures.
