Job summary

Hometown Grocers, Inc. is seeking a Guest Services Clerk to support daily Service Counter operations and strengthen guest relations through friendly, product-informed service. You will help guests make purchasing decisions and resolve complaints with a proactive, guest-first approach.

The role emphasizes accurate cash handling, transaction processing, and coordinating with cashiers to meet guest needs. This hourly position offers flexible scheduling including varied shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum availability includes 16 hours a week with a minimum of 8 hours per day during available days.
• Ability to process information/merchandise through register system.
• Ability to communicate with associates and guests.
• Ability to read, count, and write accurately.
• Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job.
• Knowledge of a wide range of goods and services of Hometown Grocers.

Responsibilities

• Takes ownership to take care of guest needs directly either face-to-face, electronically, or by telephone.
• Responds to guest inquiries regarding offers, promotions, and events.
• Resolve guest complaints following Hometown Grocers guidelines.
• Process transactions accurately and maintain cash/media at Service Counter registers.
• Distribute tills and partner with cashiers to meet guest needs.
• Record comments, inquiries, complaints, and actions taken.
• Provide exchanges, refunds, discounts, or coupons related to guest activity.
• Hand additional service including DMV, Lottery, Rug Doctor, and ticket sales.
